History
Founded upon the work of an academic group located in Clermont-Ferrand (France), the company was set up in 2003, and supported by French Ministry of Research and Technology and local initiatives. The company was awarded in 2002 by the French Ministry of Research and Technology, and in 2004 by “Tremplin Entreprises”, an event organized by the French Senat and ESSEC.
Management & Collaborators
The founders of NEURONAX have many years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector, and the company has collaborators, including clinicians and experts in regulatory affairs, peptide engineering or clinical trials.
-Stéphane Gobron, Ph.D, Chief Scientific Director & President – founder of Neuronax and NX210 peptide co-discoverer, he worked on the potential therapeutic applications of this candidate. He was previously CSO of a biotech company engaged in molecular diagnostic and therapeutic development, and is co-author of several patents pending.
-Fabrice Cailloux, Ph.D, non-executive – co-founder of Neuronax. Start-up specialist, he has a dual education in life sciences (Ph.D in Molecular Biology) and business administration (MBA – ESC Clermont Ferrand), Fabrice is now biotech consultant at Eurobiobiz and has previously set up and managed biotech start-ups.
-Pierre-Yves Simonin, Dr. In Pharmacy, Biologist, non-executive – co-founder of Neuronax. He has over fifteen years of biopharmaceutical product development experience, he also managed large corporate development projects or products development for different pharmaceutical companies.
-François Boutignon, Ph.D., non-executive. He is currently CEO of Aptys Pharmaceuticals, a company dedicated to drug delivery and formulation. He was the R&D director of Europeptide and is a specialist in proteins and peptides engineering and chemistry.
- Annie Meiniel, Ph.D., CNRS Research Director. She is at the origins of the characterization of new proteins secreted by a particular brain structure: the subcommissural organ. Her work leads to more than a hundred publications and the NX210 peptides family patent.
- Odile Boespflug-Tanguy, MD, Ph.D, Human genetic professor and neuro-pediatrician. She is a world renowned specialist of rare neurological disorders for which she has discovered implications of new proteins. She is scientific adviser of several associations of patients.
